Over the last few days I have been working with the BFA and firework alliance but unfortunately it isn’t good news.
There are now over 80 MPs in favour of legislation changes.
The changes could include banning year round sales and setting firework free zones or a complete blanket ban on public sales.
Without getting to political the vast majority of these MPs are labour and as we all know they will currently do anything to score some brownie points.
This is a genuine threat to the industry and our traditions and will ultimately lead to a huge black market underground trade.
This is the last thing we want to happen. There will be a huge rise in deaths and injuries from unregulated dangerous products.
Simply looking at the statistics from NI and Australia you can see what a disaster the bans have been.
I urge you all to get in contact with your local MP and share your concerns with them.
